Approval of Minutes
April 2026 minutes were approved.
Financial Report
One player in A League has not paid their player fee. The bank balance remains steady. Starting May 2026, Warren Hickernell will become the new Treasurer, relinquishing his Secretary position to Larry Feigenbaum. Larry will begin taking the minutes in June.
Officer Transition
Coordinator Updates
Member Reports
- Kevin Fitzgerald and Jim Paulmann are two new Thursday C players who will be assigned to Teams #4 and #5 in the Thursday C League.
- Game balls should be returned to each League Coordinator for the time being to assist with lost balls in the A & B Leagues.
Old Business
17th Street Field Closure
It was noted that the 17th Street baseball fields will be closed from Thanksgiving through the end of the year.
Non-Profit / For-Profit Discussion
Scott Kurkjian will schedule a conference call with Matthew Deutsch, CPA, to discuss setting up SSSA as a non-profit organization versus “for profit.”
Fall Golf Outing
Todd Schwartz is organizing the fall golf outing for either Friday, September 18 or Friday, September 25. It will be held at the River Club at $60 per person, with 60 to 80 players expected to participate.
New Business
Rule #15 Amendment
Rule #15, dealing with refusal by a player to play, was amended from a one-year suspension to one season and up to a two-season suspension based on Board discretion.
Tony Repalone Suspension Discussion
Potential suspension of Tony Repalone was discussed. A motion was made that Tony not be able to play in A League for the summer, but may play in B League. The motion passed.
Permanent Association Address
A motion was made to get a permanent address through a mailbox center for the Association. The motion passed.
County Screens
Mark McCool questioned whether the County is getting new screens. George Wacaser will find out and report back to the Board.
Permanent Batter’s Box and Plate
It was suggested that SSSA make a strong appeal for a permanent batter’s box and plate at the new fields. Todd Schwartz will contact the County on this.
Board Member Jobs and Officer Elections
Board member jobs and responsibilities were discussed using the worksheet summary. The following Board members were nominated and elected to hold the offices shown:
