February 2026 Minutes

 

Location:

Call to Order 1:12 PM,  Wednesday, February 4, 2026

 

Present:

         George Wacaser, Gary Goldberg, Mark McCool, Marc Galloway, Tod Schwartz, Scott Kurkjian, Carl Pallas, Warren Hickernell

 

Approve Minutes:

          January minutes approved with no changes.

 

Financial Report:

         The Association is in a solid financial position, although the bank balance is lower at the end of the year after paying expenses and prior to next season income, which is normal.  A motion to approve the financial report was made and approved.

 

Coordinator Updates:

         

         Mon A – Gary Goldberg – cancelled past Monday game due to cold

           (note: make sure to contact George Wacaser so he can cancel fields)

         Mon B – Carl Pallas – cancelled past Monday game due to cold

Tues C – Warren Hickernell – no new issues

         Weds A – Mark McCool – no new issues

Thurs C – Marc Galloway – addressed a player complaint

Fri B – Todd Schwartz – no new issues

 

 

Member Reports:

         Pizza Days at fields are as follows:  C League March 12;  B League March 16;  A League March 25;  sponsored by MJ Benefits & Archway Health.

         

Old Business:

Amish Games Updates – Amish game shirts were distributed to attending coaches;  Marc Galloway working on donations with “C” League, other Board members collecting from their teams/leagues.  Donations also coming in from online.  

 

         Board Candidates – there was discussion of Board candidates; waiting on final candidates.

 

         Managers Dinner Awards – names discussed for award;  the award will be named in honor of past players and called the “Spirit Award”.

 

         Marketing League Electronically – Mark McCool stated the marketing is doing well, receiving approximately 130 new player leads from Facebook ads that showed interest in joining the league.

 

New Business:

         

         Amish Games are on February 25, 2026 – Team Rosters for all four SSSA teams were issued.  

 

         Upcoming Board Elections – waiting on final candidates.

 

         Facebook Ads – resulted in approximately 130 new player leads.

 

         Professional Liability Insurance – issued by Smith Insurance and paid in full.

 

         Stripe – the credit card processor issued a 1099 to SSSA.  

         County now charges 2.45% for all electronic payments as of 2/1/26.

 

         Summer Registration – starts 3/1/26

 

         Draft Dates & Summer Schedule – Combine for rating “new players” only is on February 28 and March 14, 2026.  Leagues A & B drafts are on April 6, 2026; League C draft is on April 7, 2026.  The summer season starts April 20, 2026, and ends October 5, 2026.

 

         Spring Golf Tournament Fundraiser – fundraiser for SSSA discussed and it was suggested ideas for fundraisers be considered and presented at the next board meeting.
