SSSA BOARD MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 6, 2021

  1.  Call to order – 10:54 AM

  2.  Review/Approval of meeting minutes – Approved

  3.  Review/Approval of Financial Report from  September 8,2021

    Finances are reported to be in very good shape. All uniform apparel     will be paid by next week.  Two months of softballs have been ordered for all 34 teams.

Financial report was approved.

 

Old  

  1.   Vote on Gary Goldberg replacing Ron Grande, who has resigned as a member at large, was unanimous. Welcome Gary!

  2.  Vote on 7 teams in Tuesday and Thursday Silver league was taken and unanimously passed.

  3.  Update on shirts for winter leagues. Some colors will not be available. Some new colors will be determined and ordered.  G1 shirts and summer league winner shirts have been ordered. G2 shirts order will be place on 10-8. 

     All shirts will be given to managers on their first game day to hand out to players.

  1.  We now have 34 sponsors that have paid and . New sponsors are Flanders Gas and Steadfast Investigations.

  2.  Draft dates were agreed upon: Monday Oct 18 Monday A –, 9:00AM. FridayA - 10:30am. Monday B -1:00pm, Friday B 2:30pm. 

October 19- Tuesday  Silver 9:00 am. Thursday Silver 11:00 am.

  1.  As of this meeting we are still lacking Managers in each league and for various days. The League Coordinators and BOD members will try to recruit players to manage.

  2.  There was a motion to officially suspend Mel Hoffman for one year .It was voted on and approved by a vote of 8-1. He cannot play in any SSSA league games for one year ( to the 2022 winter season)

  3.  There are two screens requiring repair. Bob D’Angelo will contact our repair person. All defibrillators are in good order.

  4.  Excellent feedback regarding the combine on October 6th. Many players signed up and will be in the drafts.

  5. Final ratings were voted on and approved unanimously.

 

New Business

  1.  Determine if any games will be played the week of Christmas and New Year’s.

  2.  Discuss draft days results.
