1. Call to order -  12:25 PM

2. Meeting minutes- were voted on and approved.

3. Financial Report – only two players remain that have not paid their fee for league play ($50.00) each. In the future, it was decided that all payments must be in by Nov. 1. Financial Report was voted on and approved.

Old Business

 

1.)  New pitching screens have been determined to be successful. They are 6 feet high and appear to be durable. They will be used next for Friday B and Tuesday C games. If there are no issues, they will be tried at Gold 1league. It will then be determined if they should be purchased as old screens are in need of repair.

 

2.) George W. will send at a letter stating that no player is to be used as a call up unless he has a rating by SSSA. New players that have joined, are to get first priority.

 

3.) Liability Insurance for BOD members. KS and FL will report back on this after they meet with insurance company.

 

4.)Shirt sales- Only 8 short sleeve shirts remain. All are size Large

 (gray and heather blue ) . 14 Long sleeve shirts are available in various sizes

 

New Business

 

1.) The banquet for this year has been cancelled again due to Covid. We will have Pizza Days on March 7(Richardson and 17th St.) and     8th at 17th St. GG and LN will work on this. Doug Smith will provide beverages.

 

2.) A Manager’s  dinner for Sunday March 27 was suggested.  Team awards will be distributed then. A motion was voted on and approved unanimously. JZ, GG, and BD will make arrangements for this.

 

3.) Board elections will be held on March 7 and 8. The seats occupied by Ken Shepard, George Wacaser, Chuck Cason and Bob D’Angelo are open to anyone that would like to run. Interested candidates must inform Ken Shepard in writing, by Feb. 14th. This info will also appear on Facebook and SSSA website.

 

4. GW will rewrite the Rule 3.d to be more concise.

 

5.) Field reservations for Feb and March are to be made by LN.

 

6.) The Amish games will be on Wed. Feb.23. We will have Gold 1 play against the Ohio team and Gold 2 vs. the Pa. team. Sarasota County will view this as a tournament.  Board voted unanimously to approve field reservation and provide our certificate of insurance. JZ will head up this event.

 

7.) Covid issues- Two Gold 1 players have reported contracting Covid. BOD has recommended that Covid procedures be reinstated and followed. Anyone feeling ill should get a test and isolate for 5 days.

 

 8) Two player issues were discussed: 1.) Player instigating in a close call. No action, since the incident was not reported in accordance to by laws (24hrs.) 2.) Mike Dickson, a Gold 1 player quit his team due to lack of playing time. He was suspended by the board in accordance with our rules.
