The meeting was called to order at 1 pm. Present were Gary Goldberg, Ken Shepard, Mike Tizzani, Mike Mahan, Bob D'Angelo, Chuck Cason and George Wacaser. Not present were Mike Cox and Frank Lyons.

 

The minutes of the December 13th meeting were approved.

 

Mike Mahan addressed our finances. All players have paid in full. Money is still owed to the county for the fields. Board insurance is still to be paid. Also championship shirts and plaques for players turning 80 have to be purchased. After reaching the halfway point of the season no fees will be collected from new players. The issue of payment for the January 2nd games is still to be resolved with a letter being sent to a county official. The financial statement was approved by the board.

 

Merv Hamburg has been suspended till 1/10/25 then he could apply for reinstatement. This decision was approved by the board.

 

A discussion regarding extra inning games occurred with the first game to be played to completion and the second game becoming official after 4 innings.

 

Managers are to be instructed to inform new players about the medical history/contact form on the website.

 

Defibrillators will not be on the bench.

 

The game against the Amish will be on 2/28/24. Food will be provided by Detwilers with the boys from the camp doing the cooking. The camp will be tasked with reserving the field.

 

The association will not be hiring umpires.

 

Candidates for the upcoming board elections will apply though late January. The voting will run from February 20th till March 12th.

 

Marc Jacobs will be contacted to lock down Pizza days.

 

The manager's dinner will be Sunday evening 3/24. Bob D'Angelo will explore possible venues.

 

The running plate line will be eliminated and extra home plates will be purchased.

 

The next meeting will occur on February 14th, 2024 at 1pm.
