                                                      OLD BUSINESS
Bill reported the hot dog day expenses totaled $454.23 and offered suggestions to improve next year’s event.
Jack gave each board member a supply of “baseball cards” to distribute or pass out to promote our league.
A motion was made and passed unanimously for a 1 sentence addition to rule 3.i Courtesy Runners. George had prepared the rule addition.
Joe gave each board member a supply of tickets to sell for our annual banquet, which is Wednesday, March 27. The cost is $17 per ticket and the guest speaker will be Neil Allen, former major league pitcher.
The 2019-2020 registration form prepared by George was approved. For this summer we’ll have a Wednesday gold league and a Thursday silver league. Next winter we’ll have Monday and Friday Gold I & Gold II leagues. We hope enough players register to have Silver I & Silver II leagues on Tuesday and Thursday.
There will be 5 open spots on our board. Only 3 individuals submitted their name to run for the board, so there will not be an election. We’ll appoint 2 men to fill the other 2 open slots when the new board is in place.
                                                      NEW BUSINESS
       1.  For the 2019-2020 winter season we’ll start the games at 9am. We’ll continue to               start summer games at 8:30am.
        2. Each silver and gold league manager will be given the opportunity to rate all players in their respective league.
        3. We discussed using paid umpires for some silver league games, but not enough board members were interested.
        4. Most pitchers now get behind the screen after releasing the ball. The board feels we’ve done all we can to encourage voluntary compliance.
        5. We’ll continue to allow 4 rated players to participate in silver league games.
        6. Most open roster spots have been filled in both gold and silver leagues.
        7. A league in Englewood was interested in playing an “All Star Game” against some of our players. If it happens it will not be an official SSSA sanctioned event.
        8. Rex Sutherland was chosen as the Fred Frank Award recipient for this year.
Next month’s meeting is 1pm Wednesday, March 13 at the Fruitville Library. Today’s meeting adjourned at 3:20pm.

Respectfully,

Ken Shepard, Secretary
