1.) Call to order- 11:10 am

 

2.) Approve meeting minutes for 3/9and 3/25 (special meeting). Minutes voted on and approved.

 

3.) Financial report – All fields for April, May and June have been reserved.  50% of fee paid.  Financial report voted on and approved.

 

Old Business

 

1.) Election of new officers

President – Ken Shepard elected on white ballot                       (unopposed)

VP – Frank Lyons – reelected unanimously

Treasurer – Mike Mahan -  elected unanimously

Secretary – Ron Giovannucci – elected unanimously

 

2.) Update duties for BOD members discussed and revisions

 

3.) Discussed raising sponsor fees. New sponsor fees were voted on and approved. New fee to be $300 for new sponsors, $250 for returning sponsors

 

4. Voted on and approved all summer managers

 

5.) Voted on and approved suspension of Ken Krecji for quitting team over playing time and position. Eligible to return Summer 2023

 

6.) Decided that managers will determine if they want to play games on holidays  ( Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day.)

 

7.) Reviewed Bill Yeates case. He quit team in January.  Voted and agreed on suspension from summer league in accordance with our rules

 

8.)Managers dinner- Deemed a great success, some discussion around price per meal.  Agreed to have the dinner again next year and try a different venue. Also agreed to include summer managers.

 

9.) Summer league will include a new female player (Carol Wilberts & Gail Chase ) Wednesday Gold 1 is in need of 5 additional players.

Agreed that a letter will be sent to all undrafted individuals indicating that all players in a draft  will play on at least one team in the summer and two teams in the winter . ( GW)

 

10.) We are in need of new wooden plates measuring 19X34 1/ Frank Lyons will work on this.  Ron G. Will have 4 new wooden plates for the Winter season.

 

11.) Rules reminders – Hitting the screen in a game is a strike in the A league and a “no pitch” (Ball) in the Band C leagues.

There will be no infield fly rule in the “C” summer league.

12.) The suggestion platform has not been set up on the SSSA homepage. FL will handle this.

 

13.) SSSA Shirts for sale – 6 Large ( 5 white, 1 black)  

 

14.) Voted on purchasing cotton shirts and hats from John Plaskon. Motion failed
