SSSA BOARD MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 8, 2025

September Minutes

 

Call to order 1:03 pm

 

Present - George Wacaser, Mike Cox, Gary Goldberg, Todd Schwartz, Mark McCool, Carl Pallas

 

Approve Minutes - August minutes approved with change C league 12-13 player requirements.

 

Financial Report - Fee to pay $1000 for fields.

 

Coordinator Updates  -

No issues. All manager player ratings due by Sept 22nd.

 

Member Reports - 

Mark McCool - Working on newsletter.

Carl Pallas - Need to Reserve fields (17th st & Fruitville)for Winter Season that starts 10/27/25. With no games Nov 11, 27 & 28. Dec 20 - Jan 1/26.

Reserve field for combine 10/03/25

 

County Directive, ref Batting Practice  - 

Will communicate with county field officials regarding practices.

 

Old Business  - 

Don’t need to reserve/pay for fields on Nov 11 & 28 due to holidays.

 

Fees Winter Call-ups - 

Discussed a $20 call-up charge for one year.

 

Umpire Clinic with Combine - George Wacaser & Mike Cox will run clinic.

 

Runner for Player Replacements- 

 

Applicable to A and B Leagues only 

- Prior to the beginning of the first game, each team's corresponding manager will identify what players will need a runner when they get on base.

-  For each player needing a runner, the manager will provide the Assigned  Runner's name for that player.

-  The Assigned Runner will only be allowed to run for that one player; unless an injury occurs,  at which time, the manager will then notify the other team’s manager who will be the new Assigned Runner.

 

Pitcher Screen -

Batter will receive ONE courtesy dead ball if ball hits pitcher screen. 

Motion not passed.

 

3 Rated Players in B League - No changes made. 

 

Board New Member -

A motion voted and passed to replace Roman Zareczny with Warren Hickernell on Board.

Warren will take over the secretary responsibilities.

Carl Pallas will take over field reservations and equipment/locker upkeep.

 

Fall Draft, Order and Call Ups- Applicable to Monday and Wednesday A League only

-Managers will be given the opportunity to draft #1 and #2 rated players using the “Even Up” scenario.  Meaning each team will be given a chance to draft equal amount of #1 & #2 rated players unless they choose a #3 or higher rated player.

-Teams that have #1 or #2 rated player/manager will have their names slotted in the earliest rounds of draft.

-Managers/teams will have combined “Player Ratings” totaled. Highest combined rating will draft first. Ties will be determined by game of chance using cards.

 

Next Board Meeting Location - To be held 17th St field office.
