The meeting was called to order at 1 pm. Present were Gary Goldberg, Ken Shepard, Mike Tizzani, Mike Mahan, Bob D'Angelo, Frank Lyons, Chuck Cason and George Wacaser. Not present was Mike Cox.
The minutes from the September 6th meeting were approved.
Mike Mahan addressed our finances. Money is owed to Sarasota County for the summer leagues and the championship shirts have to be paid for. As of this date 28 sponsors have paid the association with a possibility of payment from 7 old sponsors. 350 players have paid. The financial report was approved.
After a review of the registration numbers a motion passed to drop the proposed winter Wednesday B league. An estimate of 34 teams for the winter season was made.
Times for the draft days were discussed with the drafts beginning at 8:30AM on 10/23 & 10/24.
The association has a target of having the shirts for the upcoming season on both draft days.
A discussion took place regarding who the managers will be for the upcoming season and player ratings.
We were informed that we have accepted delivery for the balls for the upcoming season.
New Business
The C league will play games at both Fruitville and 17th St. Parks in December and January while work occurs at 17th St. Pk.
A motion passed regarding a rule change for the C leagues pertaining to who is placed as a runner at 2nd base in the 8th inning. The managers can pick who the runner is.
Rules # 11 & 12 changes were confirmed and are now listed on the website. The writing of Rule # 12g was confirmed but the replaced player can be used as a call up for another team.
There was a discussion regarding Rule 12e.
A motion passed to replace the veer rule.
A discussion occurred regarding an on field incident with a C league player.
Notices are going out to players who haven't paid as of this date.
