Call-up Process

League Coordinator CU Process, (SSSA-13 Nov 2019)

Call-Up, “CU”, process following each week’s games.

  1. The BYE team Manager notifies managers of those players available for CU the following week.
  2. All league managers meet following the games and select CU’s in the reverse order of league standings (by percentage).  Ties are broken by agreeable means.
  3. Each player selected in the CU meeting may only play for the team selecting him/her.  Playing for any other team is grounds for a protest and possible game(s) forfeiture.
  4. Following the CU meeting, managers may add additional CU’s as needed.

The following process is recommended when “rain outs” prevent a CU meeting

Goals

  1. Each team has the opportunity to pick a CU in the appropriate order as quickly as possible.
  2. Each manager is aware of the CUs picked by other teams.

Rain Outs

  1. The League Coordinator or the manager with first pick, if no Coordinator, will be the coordinator for this round of CU’s until all teams have selected their first pick.
  2. After making one selection the coordinator manager will email the #2 CU manager and copy all other league managers.  (Telephone or texts may at times be appropriate.)
  3. The #2 CU manager then makes one CU pick and emails the #3 CU manager with copies to all managers.
  4. Continue this process, (it could take multiple rounds) by using “Reply All” to each email which will create a string of emails with all of the information needed by each team.  Once the final CU need is filled the last manager selecting should “Reply All” that the CU is completed.
  5. AFTER the CU process is completed, additional CU players, if needed, may be added.

The above process is not a set of rules to be followed exactly since additional factors may be involved and require alternate steps to accomplish the two goals listed above.

Cooperation and understanding between League managers is needed to complete the CU process quickly and fairly.  Each manager should note “completed” when finished with his CUs.
