Former SSSA President George Hawley (below right) was the winner of the annual Fred Frank award. Everyone was delighted Fred could attend the event and help celebrate the happy occasion.

The annual SSSA luncheon was held on March 25th. Former Oriole and Yankee infielder Brian Roberts (see pictures below) was the featured speaker in a packed banquet room filled with players, spouses, sponsors and good friends..
SSSA BOARD MEETINGS
Association members are welcome to attend monthly Board meetings but must notify Gary Moore at least one day in advance. The minutes of previous meetings may be accessed by clicking on the "SSSA BD MTGS" button on the top of this page.
Traders Page is coming. We will soon be adding a Traders Corner where you can swap or sell your softball equipment. Watch for it in the weeks ahead! .
Silver League player Gene Caffrey has written three mystery novels for fun over the past few years. A publisher in Texas has agreed to promote them and the first of these, called “Shock Treatment”, will be released in November. Electronic copies and hard copies are most easily ordered through Amazon.
Gold League player Ed Sparkman participated in the 2015 ISSA US Open National Championships October 21-25 in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Southern States Services team, made up of players from Florida, won the Major Division, going undefeated in all their games. Ed made a game winning hit in the bottom of the 7th to win one of the games.

Attention: All SSSA Players -- 17th Street Field Ground Rules
Players are required to remain outside the gates until 8
AM and stay off the playing fields until 8:15 AM so that the grounds crew can complete mowing and striping the fields.
Please comply with this request in order to avoid problems with the Park District
Lost and Found
Forgotten bats and gloves will not be left in the shed this season along with other misplaced items. Bats and gloves will be picked up by managers and held until the owner is found. PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR BELONGINGS TO EXPEDITE THEIR RETURN.
